Alumni Association Update | April 2026

Mark Spiers 'pp, P'32 speaking at the 2025 senior BBQ.

Dear Albany Academy Alumni and Community,

As we enter the spring season, we look forward to welcoming our community back together to celebrate the individuals whose accomplishments and contributions continue to shape and strengthen Albany Academy.

Two of the premier events of the year, The Gala and Reunion Weekend, serve as cornerstone celebrations of our community, bringing alumni, families, faculty, and friends together in meaningful and memorable ways.

The Gala 2026 will take place on Saturday, April 11 at 6:00 pm at Loft 433 in Troy. This signature evening celebrates members of our community whose leadership, service, and generosity have made a lasting impact on Albany Academy, while supporting financial aid for future students.

We are proud to honor:

  • The Bischoff Family – Robert and Deborah Bischoff P’15, GP’39, and Hannah Bischoff Minissale P’39
  • E. Stewart Jones ’59, P’90, ’93, ’97
  • Margaret Holbritter ’75, P’03

JOIN US AT THE GALA!

Reunion Weekend (May 14–16) is a time-honored tradition that welcomes alumni and their families back to campus. It is an opportunity to reconnect, celebrate shared experiences, and recognize outstanding members of our alumni community.

During Reunion Weekend, we will celebrate:

  • Anne Olcott ’81 – Distinguished Alumna
  • Peter Swire ’76 – Distinguished Alumnus
  • Dr. Jennifer Okwerekwu ’06 – Outstanding Young Alumna
  • Athletic Hall of Fame Honorees:
Anthony Cioffi ’76, Thomas Cavosie (Service Award), Peter Hansen ’91, Bill Knauf ’91, Emily Padalino ’16, Julia Zacher ’21, the 2011 Girls Lacrosse Team, and the 2010–2011 Boys Hockey Team
  • Arts Hall of Fame Honorees:
Joan Dembinski ’55, Stephen Hannock ’69, Stephanie D’Alessandro ’84, John Carr ’93, and Janek Ambros ’06

Reunion Weekend is also a chance to experience campus in a more personal way, walk the halls again, take a tour, and for some, it is a chance reconnect with faculty and staff who made a lasting impression on you. Share stories, revisit familiar places, and see firsthand how the Academy continues to evolve while staying true to its roots.

REGISTER FOR REUNION!

Together, these events highlight the very best of Albany Academy: our people, our traditions, and our shared commitment to excellence.

We hope you will join us this spring as we come together to celebrate, reconnect, and create new memories with family and friends.

Kind Regards,

Mark Spiers ’99 P’32
