WRGB Features Albany Academy’s New Internship Program

Albany Academy’s new internship initiative, Academy Connections, is already making an impact!

In a recent CBS 6 WRGB feature, reporter Emma Quinn spotlighted how the program links students with alumni and parent professionals for hands-on career experiences. The segment featured Teagan Moran ’26, who’s spending her summer learning the ropes at Harmony Veterinary Clinic in Ballston Spa. Teagan, along with faculty lead Peter Hansen ’91, P'28, P'30, shared how these real-world opportunities are giving students early exposure to future career paths.

"Top colleges and universities told us, yes, academics are very important, extracurricular activities are very important...but still, what are you doing to differentiate yourself? How are you pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and seeking out new professional experiences in areas you might be interested in?" Hansen shared.

The Connections program is powered by our Academy community through placements with alumane, alumni, parents, and valued community members. It is designed to:

• Help students explore careers through real-world placements

• Strengthen alumni and parent engagement

• Provide personalized mentorship experiences
