Building Confident, Engaged, and Thoughtful leaders

At Albany Academy Middle School, students begin in Grade 5, not just because they’re ready, but because we believe in challenging and supporting them at just the right moment. Spanning Grades 5 through 8, our Middle School offers the best of both worlds: a warm, close-knit community and an environment that fosters independence, academic growth, and personal discovery. Our students are encouraged to think critically, explore new interests, and grow into confident, compassionate leaders.

Here, it’s cool to be smart—academic excellence is celebrated, and every student is challenged to grow intellectually and personally in a supportive and dynamic environment.

Leadership is a core part of the Albany Academy experience. At our Middle School, Prefects and Big Sisters take on meaningful roles that foster responsibility, mentorship, and confidence, preparing them to navigate the challenges of Upper School and beyond.

When we were looking for a new school for our son, we were looking for an environment with an emphasis on academic excellence, college preparation, and professionalism. Albany Academy felt like the right fit for him because these characteristics were evident on our very first visit and are encompassed in the mission and core values of the school.
