This uplifting weekly class invites campers to connect, create, and contribute to something larger than themselves.
About the Camp Cares Program
Camp Cares is Academy Summer’s community-service initiative designed to help campers understand the power of kindness, empathy, and responsibility. Launched last year with the bottle tab collection for the local Ronald McDonald House, Camp Cares has quickly become a meaningful part of our culture. It reflects our belief that summer is not only a time for adventure and exploration, but also a chance to make a positive impact on the world around us.
Through Camp Cares, students learn that even small actions — a card, a homemade blanket, a bracelet, a collection drive — can offer real comfort to someone in need. We are all part of something bigger, and every camper has the ability to strengthen the community we share in the Capital Region and beyond.
This initiative teaches compassion, teamwork, and citizenship in a hands-on, age-appropriate way. Most importantly, it helps campers see themselves as caring, capable individuals whose choices matter.
