Food at Academy Summer

At Albany Academy Summer, meals are more than a break in the day. They are part of the experience!Through our partnership with FLIK Independent School Dining, campers enjoy chef-prepared lunches made on campus each day, featuring fresh options, familiar favorites, and choices that support a wide range of dietary needs. With a strong focus on nutrition, safety, and community, our dining program keeps campers energized, hydrated, and ready to learn, play, and explore all summer long.
Chef-Prepared Lunch
Lunch is provided every day and is included in all program fees. Our trained summer chef prepares healthy, kid‑friendly meals on campus, ensuring high-quality nutrition throughout the season. Pasta, salad bar and fresh fruit are available daily. Plain and fruit-infused water are served daily.
Special Treats
Campers enjoy ice cream on Wednesdays after lunch and Freeze-pop Fridays
Food Allergies
We are committed to providing a safe environment for all campers:
- Academy Summer is a nut‑free program, and Albany Academy is a nut‑free campus.
- All meals and snacks provided are prepared without nuts.
- Families must list all allergies during registration so our team can plan appropriately.
- Our Chef and nurse review all allergy information to ensure safe meal practices.
Special Dietary Needs
We make every effort to accommodate individual dietary needs, though some requests may not be possible due to facility or staffing limitations. Families should indicate any dietary restrictions or special requirements during registration.
Every day:
- We offer Gluten‑free, vegan, and vegetarian options
- Our chef, nurse and program coordinators collaborate to review all dietary notes and special meal requests.
Snacks
Campers in ALL PROGRAMS enjoy a morning snack each day. Morning snack is fresh fruit with rotating daily options. Campers in Junior Academies enjoy a nutritious afternoon snack like crackers, pretzels, granola bars, etc. All campers in Four O’Clock Club get a snack.
Water & Hydration
Hydration is an essential part of a healthy and active camp day. Campers have access to filtered water stations throughout campus all day. Please send campers with a labeled, non-glass water bottle each day. Cups will be available if campers forget their water bottles.
