Kick off the summer with our hands‑on Counselor‑in‑Training Program designed for teens ready to grow as leaders.
Kick off the summer with our hands-on Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Leadership Program, designed for teens who are ready to grow as leaders in all areas of their lives. Participants may enroll in Week 1, Week 2, or the full two-week experience, with a discounted rate for those who choose both weeks.
Through meaningful experiences that extend in and out of the classroom and across camp programming, CITs build skills that support leadership at camp, school, in extracurriculars, and within their broader community.
Through engaging workshops, collaborative activities, and hands-on experiences, participants develop the skills and mindset needed to be confident, responsible, and effective counselors. Each week offers a complete and impactful experience, focusing on professional expectations, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and camper supervision, while providing meaningful exposure to the daily rhythms of Academy Summer.
CITs work closely with Mr. Essery, our Summer Leadership teacher, and experienced Lead Counselors, receiving mentorship, guidance, and supportive feedback throughout the program. Participants have opportunities to apply what they are learning through supervised practice with younger campers, building confidence and strengthening their leadership presence.
Students who enroll in both weeks benefit from a more comprehensive experience, with additional time to deepen their skills, take on increased responsibility, and further develop their leadership capacity.
