The first step in applying to Albany Academy is to let us know a little about your family and what you may be looking for through our online inquiry form. 

Once your form is submitted, you can expect contact from our admissions team who will guide you through next steps and the admissions process.

The best way to imagine yourself at Albany Academy is to experience it in person. Our admissions team will guide you on a personalized tour, giving you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Parents/guardians of candidate students should submit an application, including all required documents. Applicants are encouraged to submit all materials prior to February 15 to ensure a decision by March 20. Following, February 15, applicants will be considered on a rolling basis. 

A completed application is comprised of the following: 

• Completed application
• (3) letters of recommendation from:
  • Math teacher
  • English teacher
  • Principal/counselor
• Parent evaluation
• Transcripts or student records
• Lower School students:
  • Skills screenings completed
• Middle School and Upper School students:
  • Share completed essay 
  • Entrance exam

As a final step in the Admissions process, candidates will spend time visiting campus. This allows the applicant the opportunity to experience our school firsthand, meeting faculty and getting to know other students. While on campus, we will also perform student assessments and interviews. 

Lower School (Pre-K through grade 4)
Lower School students will meet with literacy and math specialists, as well as their grade level teacher and shadow the classroom as part of their overall assessment.
    
Middle School (Grades 5-8)
Middle School students will shadow classrooms, meet teachers, and meet with the Middle School division director.
    
Upper School (Grades 9-12 and post-graduate)
Upper School students will shadow classrooms for different subject areas, meet teachers as well as the director of curriculum and Upper School division director.
