Meet our International Director

Dr. Jessica Chen joined Albany Academy in 2021 after a 17-year career in education in Vermont. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics, a Master of Arts in Education, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

She was named Vermont State Teacher of the Year in 2012 and was recognized by President Obama. Prior to joining Albany Academy, she authored a four-level Mandarin textbook series, coordinated international enrollment programs, and mentored native Chinese-speaking teachers serving in U.S. middle and high schools.

In 2009, she became the first certified Advanced Placement Chinese teacher. Additionally, she served as the Head of the Chinese Language Academy at Middlebury Interactive Languages for eight years until 2020.
