At Albany Academy, athletics are more than just competition—they are a cornerstone of character and leadership development. Our teams are known for their strength, skill, and success across a wide range of sports, but our commitment extends beyond winning.

With our motto, “Everyone plays,” every student takes part in Physical Education, fostering lifelong habits of fitness, confidence, and teamwork. In the Lower School, we focus on building foundational skills and a love of movement through age-appropriate activities—including dance, ice skating, and swimming—all offered right here on campus.

As students progress to Middle and Upper School, they continue to build resilience and discipline by participating in at least two competitive teams and ongoing physical training. Here, athletics are not just an activity—they are an essential part of the exceptional Albany Academy experience.

ArbiterSports Registration

Albany Academy uses ArbiterSports, a secure and user-friendly online platform, to manage physical education and athletic program registrations. This system allows you to enter your information once and store it in your family’s ArbiterSports profile for future use across multiple programs and seasons.

All Upper School students are required to register through ArbiterSports for physical education and athletics. Middle School students who plan to play on a JV or Varsity team must also complete registration.

Open Swim

We welcome the community to enjoy open swim hours in the Albany Academy warm-water pool, maintained at a comfortable 82 degrees—ideal for aquatic fitness, rehabilitation, or simply starting your day with a swim. Professional coaches will be on-site to supervise and serve as certified lifeguards.
