AAG Council Update | January 2026

Dear Academy Community,

As we settle into the start of a new year, January feels like the perfect moment to pause and reflect on the strength of our alumnae community. Before we fully turn the page, I want to share how special it was to gather together at our AAG and AA Joint Alum Holiday Party. The turnout was incredible, and the evening was filled with great conversation and joy. Catching up with alum from across generations and hearing about all the amazing things happening in your lives was a reminder of just how connected the Academy community remains.

I am also excited to share a meaningful project the Alumnae Council supported to close out the year. The Council created a wish list to refresh and enhance the girls’ Senior Lounge, and thanks to the generosity of our community, the list was completely cleared. The space now includes new whiteboards, lamps, comfy pillows, mirrors, a microwave, and additional storage. These small but thoughtful additions have helped make the lounge a more welcoming and functional space for our senior girls, and it is a wonderful example of alumnae support making a real impact on current students.

Looking ahead, we are now accepting nominations for three alumnae awards that will be presented during Reunion Weekend this spring. We are prioritizing nominations for graduates from class years ending in 1 and 6, though nominations from any year are welcome. The awards include the Outstanding Young Alumna Award for graduates within 15 years, the Distinguished Alumna Award for graduates 20 or more years out, and the Fredericka Voorhaar Slingerland ’32 Volunteer Service Award. If someone comes to mind whose achievements, leadership, or service embody the spirit of AAG, I encourage you to submit a nomination by the end of the month.

Finally, please mark your calendars for Reunion Weekend, taking place May 14 through 16. We cannot wait to welcome alumnae back to campus to celebrate, reconnect, and continue building on the legacy we all share.

Wishing you a happy and healthy start to the new year. I hope to see many of you this spring.
