Girls’ Lacrosse Captures Section II Class D Championship

On May 28, 2025, Albany Academy’s girls’ lacrosse team secured the Section II Class D title with a 13–9 victory over top-seeded Voorheesville at Shenendehowa High School. This win marks the program’s first sectional championship since 2014.

Junior Sydney Morrison led the Bears with six goals, four of which came in the second half, helping the team fend off a strong comeback attempt by Voorheesville. Goalie Ava Rose Herba contributed key saves, and the defense forced multiple turnovers to maintain the lead.

With this victory, Albany Academy improved to a 14–4 record and advanced to regional play.
