Varsity Girls Basketball Takes Class A Crown

"After winning back-to-back section titles in Class B, expectations within the Albany Academy girls basketball team did not drop when the program was moved up to Class A.

The Bears had eyes all season on completing a three-peat, and accomplished their mission Saturday afternoon with a 65-43 win over Broadalbin-Perth in the Class A final at Hudson Valley Community College.

'To win it one time is fantastic; to win it a second time is even better,' said Albany Academy head coach Jerry Vien. 'But three times in a row – after moving up a class – is historic; it really is.'”
