Student Activities
At Albany Academy, learning does not stop when the school day ends. Our activities and co-curricular programs are intentionally designed to complement classroom learning and support the whole child. From Lower School through Upper School, students explore interests, develop leadership, build confidence, and form meaningful connections. Co-curricular experiences are not optional extras. They are an essential part of an Albany Academy education.
Our Approach
Co-curricular programs at Albany Academy are grounded in five focus areas that shape how students grow beyond the classroom:
Belonging and Community
Students build connection, confidence, and a sense of being known and valued through shared experiences and relationships.
Leadership and Personal Responsibility
Students develop independence, initiative, and accountability through age-appropriate leadership opportunities.
Academic Support and Enrichment
Students deepen skills, extend learning, and stay curious through enrichment and academic support.
Creativity and Self-Expression
Students explore ideas, imagination, and identity through the arts and expressive opportunities.
Real-World Skills and Applied Learning
Students practice problem-solving, teamwork, and independence through hands-on experiences.

Key Club Gives Back
Key Club is a student-led, high school organization focused on service and leadership. At Albany Academy, members actively give back to the Capital Region through service projects, drives, and hands-on volunteer work.
